ELITechGroup (Puteaux, France) has received the CE mark for use of saliva on its SARS-CoV-2 ELITe MGB Kit.

The collection of saliva matrix is less invasive for SARS-CoV-2 detection than nasopharyngeal swabs and will permit to address different needs starting from repeated screening in various settings such as schools and workplaces. The SARS-CoV-2 ELITe MGB Kit is designed to determine, quantitatively and qualitatively, the presence of SARS-CoV-2 Virus RNA, responsible for the well known pathology COVID-19.

The CE-IVD marked kit for detecting SARS-CoV-2 and validated on nasopharyngeal, nasal and oropharyngeal swabs was released on September 2020 on the Sample-to Result-Platform ELITe InGenius and on major PCR thermocyclers as well. The kit allows the possibility of carrying out 240 tests or 96, on the ELITe InGenius platform, the sample-to-result solution, capable of analyzing up to 12 samples simultaneously and of reanalyzing them without the need for further extraction of genetic material.

“ELITechGroup is constantly committed to improving both test quality and sample matrices collected. For this reason, we identified the use of saliva for SARS-CoV-2 as crucial for reopening schools and community life” said Roberto Meda, Vice President MDx ELITechGroup.
