Sentinel Diagnostics Presents Latest Breakthroughs in Diagnostics
By LabMedica International staff writers Posted on 12 Nov 2024 |

Sentinel Diagnostics (Milano, Italy) is sharing its latest breakthroughs in medical diagnostics at MEDICA 2024. The company is also hosting exciting presentations on molecular diagnostics, fecal immunochemical testing (FIT), chromatography, and lateral flow tests.
At this year’s MEDICA, Sentinel is showcasing is wide portfolio of compatible freeze-dried kits based on its proprietary STAT-NAT (Stabilized Amplification Technology) technology that has been developed with a new protective compound able to stabilize the activity of enzymes for a very long time with no temperature-controlled storage requirements. STAT-NAT technology yields very good performances in all the most diffused molecular biology techniques. It can improve test sensitivity even with low-concentrated DNA samples and contains all the reaction components. Sentinel is also highlighting its lyophilized STAT-NAT kits for various application areas such as virology, healthcare-associated infections, parasitology, and respiratory infections.
Designed to work with the lyophilized kits is Sentinel’s SENTiNAT 200 molecular diagnostics system that contains everything needed to perform a complete PCR analysis- rom sample extraction to Real-Time PCR results interpretation. The fully automated multiparametric system for pathogens detection can perform a multiparametric analysis on different matrices from one or more patients, using the same extraction and amplification protocol. Smart software takes care of every step of the process from sample loading to the result analysis with visual and simple terms to avoid any human errors.
At MEDICA 2024, Sentinel is also highlighting FOBGold line, its complete line for fecal occult blood testing (FIT). This includes the SENTiFIT 270 high-speed FIT system with a throughput of up to 270 tests per hour and featuring a patented pierceable tube for high-volume CRC screening. Also being showcased is the SENTiFOB automated FIT system with a throughput of up to tests per and compatible with pierceable tubes. In addition, Sentinel is highlighting the CALiaGold quantitative latex immunoassay for fecal calprotectin measurement as a marker of intestinal inflammation. The CALiaGold solution, together with the SENTiFIT 270 and SENTiFOB automated analyzers, offers a specific diagnostic system to differentiate IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) from IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). Visitors to the Sentinel booth can also learn more about the FOB Gold system which comprises a unique “2 in 1” tube for sample collection and a new generation immunological latex reagent for the determination of FOB.
