Alcor Scientific Presents Latest Innovation in High Volume ESR Testing

ALCOR Scientific (Smithfield, RI, USA) is attending MEDICA 2024 in Düsseldorf, the world’s largest event for the medical sector, where the company is presenting its latest innovations in high-volume erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) testing.
At this year’s MEDICA, ALCOR is presenting its new iSED PRO fully automated ESR analyzer with a bi-directional interface that is designed to streamline ESR testing for busy, high-volume reference laboratories. The iSED PRO analyzer is rack-compatible and fully automated, significantly reducing the hands-on time and turnaround time required to produce an ESR result. Results are generated in seconds using a small blood sample, allowing for multiple hematology tests to be run off the same primary tube sample. iSED PRO is designed for maximum throughput while offering the flexibility to accommodate each laboratory’s unique workflow.
Among its versatile family of ESR solutions, ALCOR is also showcasing the iSED and iSED ELITE ESR analyzers which are typically suited for medium-high volume labs. These analyzers significantly improve ESR testing efficiency by generating results in seconds with the most automated ESR testing process. These automated, compact benchtop systems enable moderately complex urgent care labs to easily generate truly STAT ESR results in seconds with a small sample volume. Also on display at the trade show is the miniiSED ESR analyzer that helps urgent care centers to bring more testing services in-house. The miniiSED ESR is a compact benchtop analyzer that can generate truly STAT ESR results in seconds from a small sample volume. This allows practices to have results available during a patient visit which can positively impact patient care as well as patient satisfaction, particularly in a rheumatology practice. Operationally, miniiSED can enhance efficiency helping reduce send-out tests and allowing for more tests to be performed with one primary tube sample (compared to other ESR methods that require larger sample volumes).
