现在西非爆发的埃博拉创下最大规模的纪录。辛普森先生说，将来必定需要护理点(POC)检验来快速鉴定和治疗病毒性出血热，包括拉沙热、埃博拉和马尔堡病。
Corgenix公司还宣读了一份口述摘要，题为“疑似拉沙热病例的预后：与塞拉利昂非发热人群之比较”。拉沙热与疟疾等其它疾病很难区分，该研究的目的是更好地识别和治疗拉沙热患者。Corgenix公司的法规与临床事务专家Bethany Belote宣读了研究结果，研究论文将发表于10月号的《临床化学》(Clinical Chemistry)杂志。
