Autobio Diagnostics Co., Ltd. (Zhengzhou, Henan, China) showcased its fully automated microbial identification and antibiotic susceptibility testing (ID-AST) solutions at this year’s ECCMID, the largest international meeting of clinical microbiologists and infectious diseases specialists.

At ECCMID 2022, Autobio demonstrated the AutoMic-I600 automated ID-AST system for quick and accurate microbial identification and ID-AST that supports automatic sample pipetting, incubation and detection. Five different antibiotic cards, including the most comprehensive antibiotic panels, help microbiologists to find out suitable antimicrobial treatment within much shorter time cost. It supports random placement of multiple varieties of board card along with bidirectional intelligent identification and matching of board card and specimen. With two determination methods (colorimetric and turbidimetric), and four wavelength detection, continuous automated interpretation, and AI algorithm model, the AutoMic-I600 ensures scientific and accurate results.

In addition, Autobio highlighted its MALDI-TOF MS (Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry) system for use in microbiological clinical laboratories for the identification of pathogenic bacteria, especially microaerobes, anaerobes, mycobacteria and fungi. Its powerful database includes more than 16,000 strains covering more than 5,000 species and 1000 genera along with a unique filamentous fungi database of more than 1,000 strains covering 450 +species and 70+ genera. Autobio’s MALDI-TOF MS system features a localized and updatable microbial strain database for high identification accuracy. Autobio also presented the AutoMimo system to improve pipetting efficiency and optimize workflow in the lab when conducting experiments with its MALDI TOF microbial identification system. The instrument is also compatible with MALDI TOF of other brands.
