Orion Diagnostica (Espoo, Finland) showcased its FDA-cleared QuikRead go CRP along with other QuikRead go products at the 71st AACC Annual Scientific Meeting & Clinical Lab Expo held in Anaheim, California, USA, from August 6-8.

Orion Diagnostica specializes in accurate and affordable clinical diagnostic and hygiene monitoring tests. It focuses on point-of-care diagnostic tools that enable healthcare professionals to detect diseases more quickly, make evidence-based diagnoses and treatment decisions, and follow up on treatment outcomes. Orion Diagnostica’s QuikRead go CRP test is an immunoturbidimetric assay for the in vitro quantitative determination of C-reactive protein (CRP) in K2-EDTA and lithium heparin whole blood, K2-EDTA and lithium heparin plasma, and in serum samples.

The test is carried out by means of the company’s QuikRead go instrument, a compact, automatic system that can be connected to HIS/LIS systems. The QuikRead go makes it easy to add patient and/or operator identification information together with the result which is automatically stored in the instrument’s internal memory. Its intuitive user interface enables a variety of settings to be personalized and the instrument can be easily combined with accessories, such as a barcode reader and a printer.

At AACC 2019, Orion Diagnostica also showcased its Hygicult and Easicult products for hygiene monitoring. Orion Diagnostica’s Easicult products are easy to use culture tests intended for monitoring microbial contaminations in industrial fluids. Using Easicult does not require any microbiological expertise, advance preparation or equipment and the slides can easily be used on-site. The test slides can be used as convenient transport media if further analysis of the samples is needed. Similarly, the company’s Hygicult product line comprises of a selection of dipslide culture tests, which are designed for reliable, economic and timesaving on-site microbial detection, especially on surfaces. The slides can also be used as convenient transport media for cultured samples.
