A new automated sperm-quality analyzer includes enhancement features such as a high-definition touch-screen interface, expanded testing options, and state-of-the-art digital magnification with “click-to-mark” interface. The analyzer will be exhibited by Medical Electronic Systems (MES; Los Angeles, CA, USA) at the Clinical Lab Expo of AACC 2015 (July 26-30; Atlanta, GA, USA).
The “SQA-Vision” analyzer was developed based on 10 years of market feedback and is positioned to augment MES’s line of SQA-V and QwikCheck semen analyzers with a top of the line solution.
“MES has placed greater than 3,750 semen analyzers globally in over 45 countries. This market penetration provided us with the unique opportunity to develop the SQA-Vision based on a wealth of customer feedback. The SQA-Vision will profoundly impact the way semen analysis is conducted in laboratories worldwide with rapid, standardized and accurate test results, customized reporting and greatly expanded testing options which strictly adhere to WHO guidelines,” said Eric Carver, General Manager.
MES developed the SQA-Vision as an intuitive tool for fertility screening, post-vasectomy follow-up, sperm banking, research or detailed IVF assessment. In addition to the predecessor’s testing modes (Fresh, Washed, Frozen, and Post Vasectomy), the SQA-Vision now includes: Density Gradient, Swim Up, Longevity, and Vitality testing options. It also provides a high-resolution visual interface, barcode scanning technology, built-in LIS capability and click-to-mark counters for assessing both sperm vitality and conducting full differential morphology.
“The beauty of the new SQA-Vision is the blend of updated technology, flexibility, and standardized testing. Depending on how semen analysis is conducted in your laboratory, the Vision can be set-up to operate in a wide range of modes. From fully automated routine screening to intensive IVF workups,” said Marcia Deutsch, CEO.
