MGI Launches Automated Multiplex Tissue Staining and Imaging System at ECP 2026

MGI Tech Co., Ltd. (Shenzhen, China) introduced VisiOmics (PMIF-20RS), a fully automated multiplex immunofluorescence staining and imaging system, at the 38th European Congress of Pathology (ECP 2026) in Stockholm, held September 12 to 16. Presented under the theme “From Tissue to Answer,” the debut anchors a portfolio spanning tissue and molecular pathology. VisiOmics is now commercially available in Europe and designated for research use only. The announcement positions the platform for laboratories seeking end-to-end, automation-driven tissue analysis.

VisiOmics enables multiplex detection of protein markers within a single tissue section, allowing characterization of cell populations and investigation of spatial organization within the tissue microenvironment. The system supports more than 20‑plex detection per run and can expand to more than 100 markers on a single section via cyclic staining. It offers walk‑away automation from staining through imaging and integrates AI‑powered image analysis with FluoXpert Vision for cell segmentation, phenotyping, and spatial analysis, supported by a dedicated AI assistant for downstream analysis and visualization.

MGI is also partnering with the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS to demonstrate the compatibility of VisiOmics multiplex immunofluorescence images with MIKAIA, the institute’s image analysis software for digital pathology and spatial biology research. The collaboration will explore how VisiOmics image data can be incorporated into MIKAIA workflows for cell segmentation, phenotyping, and spatial analysis. By connecting automated tissue imaging with these analytical tools, the partnership aims to give researchers greater flexibility in tailoring downstream analysis to their research questions.

The broader portfolio on display at ECP 2026 includes Path‑P96 WF, a customizable platform that automates multiplex immunofluorescence staining and imaging on standard slides. It processes up to 32 slides per batch, supports continuous loading and walk‑away operation, and enables detection of more than 100 protein markers through cyclic staining.

For molecular workflows, MGI is displaying PrepLPS (PrepALL Library Prep Edition), a compact liquid-handling platform for next-generation sequencing library preparation, featuring eight independent channels (0.5–1,200 µL), AI-based machine vision, and ready-to-run workflows. It is now in Early Access for European laboratories. 

Extending automation through sequencing and reporting, AIO (All-in-one) combines these steps with library preparation in a single sample-to-result platform, generating a report in about 11 hours with roughly 10 minutes of hands-on time. The system is being demonstrated live, and MGI is seeking OEM partnerships in Europe.

Across these platforms, Genoria AI supports natural‑language workflow orchestration on Path‑P96 WF, machine‑vision monitoring on PrepALL, and intelligent library‑pooling strategies on AIO.

With VisiOmics now available in Europe, alongside PrepALL and AIO for molecular pathology, we are offering a complete ‘From Tissue to Answer’ portfolio, whether the starting point is proteins in tissue or nucleic acids in a sample,” said Fang Chen, Vice President of MGI and General Manager of Europe & Africa at MGI.
