A newly launched embedding workstation has brightly illuminated work surfaces, cool and contoured armrests, and high-throughput capacity.

The HistoStar embedding system delivers improved user comfort and productivity during the embedding process. The new embedding center incorporates an ergonomic design with smooth insulated contact points for a cool and comfortable workspace, ensuring users can focus on the embedding process without discomfort or clutter.

The embedding center incorporates a continuously adjustable paraffin dispenser paddle for user specific sample sizes. It can accommodate all cassette sizes and accept baskets from any tissue processor in its large-capacity specimen drawer. Its five-liter paraffin reservoir and large area cold plate have also been designed to maximize productivity in busy laboratories.

Combined with patented cool LED lighting for improved specimen visibility, the HistoStar also provides five levels of illumination for both the specimen and accessory areas, eliminating the need for remote lamps and bulb replacement.

With an intuitive touch-screen design for parameter controls and programmable sleep mode for reduced energy consumption, the HistoStar has a built-in Paratrimmer for the removal of excess paraffin during specimen preparation, removing the need for additional equipment.

Thermo Fisher Scientific Anatomical Pathology (Runcorn, United Kingdom) introduced the HistoStar embedding system, which is the ideal solution for the embedding of routine tissue samples into paraffin blocks for microtome sectioning.

Current embedding centers can be uncomfortable, hot, or poorly illuminated leading to fatigue and potential errors. The new Thermo Scientific HistoStar Embedding Workstation allows users to embed comfortably and efficiently.
