A new sterile 96-well shallow polypropylene plate has been developed that offers a capacity of just 150 µl per well, reducing reagent costs and round well bottoms to ensure good mixing.Posted on 10 Feb 2010
Supplied sterile and DNA/RNA-free in bags of 25, packed four to a case of 100, the new plates, developed by Porvair Sciences, Ltd. (Leatherhead, UK), are an ideal tool for undertaking bacterial, yeast, or cell growth work. Beneficially the design of the shallow polypropylene plate positions samples much closer to analyzer detectors, resulting in increased counting efficiencies.
Manufactured from natural ultra-pure grade polypropylene under clean room conditions-- Porvair's 96-well shallow polypropylene plate contains no contaminants that may leach out and affect biologic samples. Bulk packs of suitable sterile lids are also available, so that the inconvenience of unwrapping individual sterile plates in a safety cabinet is eliminated.
Porvair 96-well shallow polypropylene plates are manufactured to comply with ANSI/SBS dimensions ensuring complete compatibility with all microplate readers, washers, and automated equipment. Porvair Sciences' expertise in microplate technology and manufacturing covers scientific fields including life sciences, drug discovery, combinatorial chemistry, solid phase extraction, protein purification, high throughput screening, and proteomics and genomics.
ANSI/SBS 1-2004 microplate footprint dimensions and ANSI/SBS 4-2004 microplate well positions are registered and designated by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
