Pictor Debuts New PictImager Targeted Proteomics Platform at ADLM 2026

Pictor Holdings (Carlsbad, CA, USA) is participating in the Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine (ADLM) 2026 Annual Meeting, taking place July 26–30 at the Anaheim Convention Center in California. At booth 925, the company is debuting its next-generation PictImager high-resolution imaging system as part of an integrated platform designed to make targeted protein analysis more practical for research laboratories.
The platform combines the PictArray assay, PictImager instrument, and Pictorial software in a streamlined workflow built around the standard 96-well laboratory format. It is designed to support scalable targeted protein analysis while reducing barriers associated with specialized instrumentation, workflow complexity, and cost.

The new PictImager builds on the company’s earlier imaging systems with improvements intended to enhance usability, imaging performance, and system robustness. The updated architecture is designed to support beta-site evaluation and broader commercial deployment as Pictor prepares for a planned full commercial launch later in 2026.
The integrated platform enables laboratories to analyze up to 20 protein targets in each well and process 96 samples per run. The PictImager reads a complete plate in under one minute, while the full assay-to-result workflow can be completed in less than two hours.
Pictor’s system supports multiple specimen types without requiring laboratories to reconfigure the platform for each application. Compatible samples include serum, plasma, saliva, cerebrospinal fluid, nasal swabs, and milk, providing flexibility across human and animal health research.
The company is also advancing its Pictorial software to automate image analysis, signal extraction, and workflow reporting. Together, the instrument, assays, and software are intended to streamline targeted protein analysis from sample processing through data interpretation and reporting.
Potential applications include biomarker discovery, translational research, immune profiling, oncology studies, vaccine-response assessment, and longitudinal biomarker monitoring. The platform’s introduction follows peer-reviewed research demonstrating the performance of a Pictor targeted proteomic assay for extractable nuclear antigens in autoimmune disease research compared with established commercial testing platforms.
ADLM attendees can view live demonstrations of the integrated workflow and experience the new PictImager before its broader commercial release. The instrument is currently designated for research use only, with Pictor beginning beta-site engagement during the conference.
