Infection-Control Award Offered by Oxoid

In a move to emphasize the role that infection-control professionals play in limiting and containing the spread of bacterial resistance in hospital-acquired infections, Oxoid Limited (Basingstoke, UK) has launched a competition for an international "Oxoid Infection-Control Team of the Year Award.”Posted on 29 May 2003
To enter is simple, with no forms to complete. Entrants are asked to provide a two-page summary describing the infection-control challenges faced in their hospital, how team members interacted with each other to respond to these challenges, the outcome of their work (including new testing, reporting, or auditing practices and procedures developed), and explaining why this has made a difference to their patients and hospital. Since this is an international award, infection-control doctors and nurses, consultant microbiologists, laboratorians working in microbiology labs, and other infection-control professionals from all over the world are able to enter the competition.
The prize for the winning team is 5,000 pounds sterling. The prize will allow the winning team the freedom to choose how it should be rewarded, whether with a team-building event, training, or to cover travel expenses to conferences and seminars of interest.
