In a move set to boost growth with a local presence in India, Leica Microsystems (Wetzlar, Germany) acquired the microscopy and histopathology divisions of Labindia Instruments Pvt. Ltd. (Thane, India).

This move comes after more than 20 years during which Labindia has successfully distributed Leica’s products in India. Over 130 associates from Labindia have transferred to Leica Microsystems to sustain continuity for existing customers who will continue to benefit from Labindia’s experience of their needs and applications. The acquisition is the culmination of a long partnership, and supports Leica Microsystems’ strategy to expand its operations in India.
