BIT Analytical Expands Clinical Chemistry, Immunology, Molecular Offerings

BIT Analytical Instruments (Schwalbach, Germany) has acquired French original equipment manufacturer (OEM), diagnostics instruments firm, C2 Diagnostics (Montpellier, France). The purchase price was not revealed.

The acquisition will enable BIT to offer a larger range of services and technologies in areas of clinical chemistry, immunology, and molecular diagnostics. BIT Companies provide a full, turnkey portfolio for in vitro diagnosis (IVD) market OEMs

C2 is a leader in contract development, design, manufacture, and support of custom instrumentation for the diagnostic equipment industry, with a specialty in hematology. The company specializes in developing OEM instruments and has delivered and sold more than 10,000 instruments to small and mid-size diagnostic labs worldwide. The company is currently focused on developing a new hematology instrument.

With expertise in mechanics, optics, software, electronics, fluidics, and chemistry, C2 Diagnostics (C2D) also holds several in vitro diagnostics (IVD) patents. The company has its own 929-m2 facility that is registered by the FDA as a contract manufacturer

C2D is currently focused on hematology application, which has an end-user segment with a growing market size. The company's product offering is a family of over 10 models of compact, easy to operate, robust, and cost efficient diagnostic instruments.
