BioMicro Systems To Be Distribution Partner of Arrayjet

Arrayjet (Mayfield, Scotland) has announced that it has appointed BioMicro Systems (Salt Lake City, UT, USA) as their exclusive distribution partner in the United States.

BioMicro Systems have been successful with their MicroArray User Interface (MAUI) hybridization system. Michael Feldman Ph.D., CEO of the company believes that the combination of their MAUI system with the new small arrayer from Arrayjet will form a very effective system for potential users. The MAUI line of hybridization products include two high-performance models of the MAUI Hybridization system, the MAUI 4-Bay system, and the all-new MAUI 12-Bay system for automating the fluid processing of microarray samples in low-to-high-throughput laboratories.

Arrayjet has announced the release of the Sprint benchtop inkjet microarray spotter at the Advances in Microarray Technology (AMT) Conference in Edinburgh, UK, which was held on May 15-16, 2007. Designed for printing batches of slides in an R&D setting, Sprint has capacity for 20 microarray slides to be loaded and printed from two microtiter plates (96 or 384 well). Sample number may be increased by addition of two further microtiter plates during the printing run.

An extended range of substrate carriers will be available with Sprint, enabling printing onto non-glass slide substrates such as silicon wafers or glass-bottomed plates.

Dr. Feldman said, "The Arrayjet inkjet microarray spotters offer customers in the [United States] the latest technology that affords the most flexibility in printing arrays, providing excellent performance, throughput, and value. This combination of technologies gives scientists the tools to customize and optimize array design, hybridization performance, and data quality.”
