In a move to expand its business, Trestle Holdings, Inc. (Irvine, CA, USA) has agreed to acquire Interscope Technologies (Wexford, PA, USA) in exchange for Trestle stock. Further details were not disclosed.Posted on 12 Jan 2005
Interscope's products include integrated slide imaging, case flow, and clinical data management applications for use in anatomic pathology, toxicology, and genomic environments. The company has developed high-speed imaging systems for tissue and microarray slides with its MedMicro and ePathNet.net products. New software developed by the company is designed to improve the workflow of clinical and biopharmaceutical pathology.
Trestle develops and sells digital imaging and telemedicine applications that link geographically dispersed users with each other, with information databases, and with analytic tools. The company's live microscopy products enable multiple doctors and scientists to remotely view, navigate, and share images over standard Internet connections. These help to lower costs and improve efficiency. By allowing remote delivery of patient care, telemedicine permits medical professionals to service more patients.
"These [Interscope's] applications support the direction Trestle has embarked on to deliver integrated solutions and services to pathologists working in clinical and drug-development applications,” commented Maurizio Vecchione, CEO of Trestle
