A lyophilized quality control based on human serum, monitors the precision of tumor marker testing procedures.

The Lyphochek tumor marker plus control includes high target levels of cancer antigens and ferritin, as well as a very low level of prostate-specific antigen (PSA). It has a three-year shelf life when stored at 2-8 ºC. Its reconstituted stability is 14 days at 2-8 ºC and 30 days at -20-70 °C (for most analytes).

Assayed values are provided for manual and automated test methods. The Unity Interlaboratory Program with peer group comparison is available for use with the Lyphochek tumor marker plus control. The Unity Interlaboratory Program is an expert data management software system designed to improve the effectiveness of quality control processes.

Launched by Bio-Rad Laboratories, (Hercules, CA, USA), a multinational manufacturer and distributor of clinical diagnostic products, the Lyphochek multianalyte control features 23 tumor markers. Being a blood-based material, the control can be processed in the same manner as patient samples, ensuring quality on an ongoing basis.

Bio-Rad products are used worldwide by laboratories, hospitals, universities, major research institutions, as well as biotechnology and pharmaceutic companies.
