Placement of the 50,000th Clinitek Status urine chemistry analyzer, manufactured by Siemens (Sudbury, UK), was specially marked with a commemorative plaque handed over by Donal Quinn, CEO of Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics, to Lynda Petley, point-of-care manager, Partnership Pathology Services (Frimley, UK) at a ceremony held to mark the occasion.

"This 50,000th placement marks a milestone for Siemens. The Clinitek Status analyzer has been popular amongst customers since launched in November 2003, and continues to be adopted because it fulfils customers' needs for automated, accurate urinalysis readings.” commented Mr. Quinn.

To mark the occasion, a commemorative gold medal was presented to the production site and employees were each given a gold medal. Celebratory events will also take place at the Siemens R&D sites in Elkhart, IN, and Edgewater, MA (USA).

Clinik Status urine analyzers provide important markers to detect early stages of many disease states, such as diabetes, kidney disease, and urinary tract infections. They are used in both secondary and primary care settings. They are robust, simple to use, cost-effective, and provide accurate results transferred in printouts to lab personnel.
