Four concurrent detection technologies enable a broad range of chemistry, immunoassay, and plasma protein testing on one machine.Posted on 27 Jul 2010
The four methodologies are photometry, nephelometry, electrolyte detection, and advanced chemiluminescence. Clinical laboratories will benefit from an integrated chemistry and immunoassay system with the productivity and expanded capacity of high-volume automation.
The analyzer is the Dimension Vista 1500 System, which with its new connectivity to the ADVIA Automation track provides additional configuration options that help clinical laboratories customize workflow solutions to address unique operational needs. Adding to ADVIA automation options for customers is the new Centrifuge Module that together with the recently released decapper module offers one of the fastest centrifugation throughputs available to help decrease preanalytical processing time of patient samples. The centrifuge quickly and efficiently processes urgent and routine samples in intermixed tubes and caps with minimal attention or intervention by the operator.
Dimension Vista Systems are manufactured by Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics (Siemens; Deerfield, IL, USA). The Vista 1500 has a capacity for 600-800 samples onboard simultaneously, and it will process up to 2,000 tests per hour. The assay menu is very comprehensive, including general chemistry, electrolytes, diabetes testing, cancer marker monitoring, and cardiovascular assessment. Nephropathies, iron metabolism, and autoimmune testing are all encompassed in the analyzer.
David Hickey, executive vice president of the company, said, "Now, with the ability to connect the Dimension Vista 1500 System with ADVIA high-volume automation, laboratories can combine the best of both worlds—ultra integration with speed and efficiency.”
