Grants Totaling $500,000 for Researchers of AIDS Drugs

A final call to submit applications for its Drug Discovery Development Research Grant Program has been announced by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK, London, UK). Researchers working anywhere in the world toward breakthroughs in HIV/AIDS drug therapies have until July 31, 2003, to apply.Posted on 11 Jun 2003
The one-time research grants range from US$25,000 to $150,000 and are intended to further the development of inventive treatments for HIV/AIDS, including therapies aimed at treating infection, prophylactic vaccines, or microbicides designed to prevent transmission of the virus. Since inception of the program, GSK has honored nine researchers for their groundbreaking work toward new pharmaceutical strategies to combat HIV.
Research grant recipients will be announced in September 2003 at the Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy (ICAAC) in Chicago (IL, USA).
