Boston to Host Drug Discovery World Congress

The Drug Discovery Technology World Congress, to be held in Boston, (MA, USA) August 4-9, 2002, is the world's leading conference and exposition to provide information about the newest drug discovery techniques and applications. More than 5,000 scientists and business leaders are expected to attend. The event will be held in the Hynes Convention Center.

The congress is designed to help drug-discovery researchers and business executive to evaluate and understand the latest advances and information in drug discovery. Leaders from the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, academic, and government sectors will attend.

Specific topics to be covered in the information technology sessions include: the convergence of IT and drug discovery, data integration and knowledge management, creating a bioinformatics infrastructure, and data visualization and data mining. The full-day IT forum will be held on Monday, August 5, while the mini-tutorials will be held on August 6 and 7. A new session this year, called "Start-Up Showcase: Emerging and Early Stage Companies,” will be held on Sunday, August 4.
