Biotechnology laboratories that regularly process PCR samples will be certain to benefit from a new pipetting workstation.

Hamilton Robotics (Reno, NV, USA) has introduced the NIMBUS PCR Workstation, which is a compact and affordable pipetting workstation enabling fast and flexible assay setup for endpoint, real-time, qPCR, or multiplex PCR.

The workstation offers a high-density deck layout with a compact laboratory bench footprint. The instrument boasts a dynamic pipetting range from 1 to 1,000 microliters. The system utilizes the same high speed pipetting head as Hamilton's more expensive line of STAR instruments.

The workstation incorporates an easy-to-use software wizard that suits a wide range of applications including gene expression, genotyping, sequencing, and pathogen detection. Furthermore, the NIMBUS PCR Workstation accommodates a variety of tip and labware types.

The onboard INSTINCT PCR wizard utilizes a graphical interface to guide users through processing gene and sample combinations. The software traces all input components, completes setup information throughout the process, and saves all data for future use. In addition, the software wizard has a flexible PCR plate-designing tool for maximum convenience and displays real-time three-dimensional deck configurations.
