A new microplate reader suitable for all kinds of multiplex assays has recently been released for the European and American markets.Posted on 03 Apr 2012
The Scienion AG (Dortmund, Germany) sciREADER CL has been optimized for colorimetric assays carried out in 96-well microplates. The instrument is capable of detection of multiplex arrays with high sensitivity. It is compatible with various assay-staining technologies, which makes it a cost efficient alternative to fluorescent detection.
The instrument comes with an integrated software package that enables fast set-up time in less than 15 minutes and permits analysis of both single arrays and array batches. The program enables barcode identification of plates, customization of array analysis and reporting, and adaptation of the instrument for sample carriers other than microtiter plates. The software directs automated spot finding and automatic detection of “inArrayDotCode” within each well.
Use of the sciREADER CL is recommended by the manufacturer for DNA and protein multiparameter analysis, genotyping and pathogen identification, clinical diagnostics, autoimmune diseases, infectious diseases, immunology, oncology, food (e.g., allergens) and plant analytics, and drug development.
Holger Eickhoff, CEO of Scienion AG, said, “We are continuously striving to meet the needs of our customers, and adding the new sciREADER to our product portfolio is another module reflecting our strategy to offer total solutions for multiplexing. Fast set-up time and read-out, high resolution digital imaging, and efficient data analysis make our sciREADER the ideal instrument for people in life science research, especially in molecular diagnostics.”
