Motorized Operation Characterizes New Microscope System

A state-of-the-art motorized visible/fluorescence microscope is now available for biotech and life science researchers.

The Olympus (Hamburg, Germany) BX63 Microscope System supports a full range of observation methods - brightfield, darkfield, phase contrast, differential interference contrast, polarized light, and fluorescence - with motorized operation that enables fully automated control and fluorescence imaging for life science and medical research applications.

The BX63 is fully motorized and can be controlled using the touch screen control surface, the remote control unit, or Olympus' cellSens software package via a PC‘s mouse.

The BX63 boasts a unique focusing mechanism driven by changes in the height of the nosepiece, rather than the height of the stage. This approach allows the stage to be fixed into position and makes the entire system more stable and precise. The stage itself is also motorized, facilitating precise X/Y movements using ultrasonic Piezo technology to provide silent, smooth, and highly precise operation.

The microscope is fully compatible with the Olympus cellSens software suite, making it easy to perform advanced imaging processes such as multiple image alignment, multiposition, and Z-stack acquisition.
