A new line of reusable dialysis chambers with exceptionally high exchange rate is now available for use in biotech and life science laboratories.

The new Harvard Apparatus (Holliston, MA, USA) line of Ultra-Fast DIALYZERS complements the company's original DIALYZER product. The DIALYZER is a simple single-sided device for dialysis of biological samples. A broad range of DIALYZER sizes are available to accommodate sample volumes ranging from as little as 10 μL up to 5 mL. Pre-cut dialysis membranes are available for the DIALYZER with molecular weight cut-off ranges from 100 Da to 300,000 Da. The entire unit is constructed of Teflon, a virtually unreactive material, which will not interact with samples. Once assembled a Teflon-Teflon seal ensures that the DIALYZER is leak-proof.

The new Ultra-Fast DIALYZER system has a double sided, 24 mm diameter chamber thus increasing the diameter from 18 mm to 24 mm. The increased diameter results in a larger surface area for sample exposure and 20% greater exchange rate. The Ultra-Fast DIALYZER comes with a chamber and two caps and can accommodate volumes of 50 µL to 1,500 µL. Dialysis membranes with molecular weight cut off limits of 100 Da to 300,000 Da are sold separately.

The Ultra-Fast DIALYZER chambers can be used for a wide range of applications including electrodialysis, electroelution, elution of proteins and nucleic acids from gels, and electroconcentration.
