Cell biologists may now obtain tissue culture products from a new line that comprises both non-treated vessels and those coated with various growth-promoting substrates.Posted on 06 Aug 2008
Sterilin Limited (Caerphilly, UK) has issued a new product catalog that emphasizes the Iwaki brand of tissue culture products. This range of products, which is distinguished by distinctive purple caps, includes both standard untreated dishes, flasks, and plates as well as an extensive range of substrate coated products.
These vessels, coated with components of the extracellular matrix (ECM) such as collagen type 1, fibronectin, gelatin, poly-L-lysine, polyethylene imine, or thin collagen gel membrane, are designed to alleviate problems associated with in vitro culture. Cells plated on ECM-coated cultureware usually show improved attachment and growth characteristics as compared to cells plated on untreated plastic.
Sterilin also offers Iwaki brand glass-based dishes, multiwell plates, and chamber slides with excellent optical clarity for complex cell biology research.
