An enhanced version of a clinical trials database provides a comprehensive source of global clinical trial data for use in identifying and assessing new drugs and other therapies. Posted on 16 Mar 2006
The Adis clinical trials Insight database is the most comprehensive source of global clinical data, according to Wolters Kluwer Health Pharma Solutions (Parsippany, NJ, USA). The database helps drug companies to tap historic trial information to identify trends and ensure that trial design keeps pace with competitors, to see all aspects of a study through links to all related documents; provides fast pharmacogenomic-specific intelligence; identifies specific patient populations based on the addition of detailed patient inclusion and exclusion criteria; and identifies key opinion leaders and evaluates the research in which they have been involved.
The Insight database covers more than 40,000 published and ongoing trials per year. Improved indexing and biomarker endpoints allow users to evaluate study design and to determine studies where a specific endpoint has been used, making comparator analysis easy to manage. A built-in editorial assessment of "best evidence” published trial data provides added value.
"No other tool on the market provides all this intelligence in a single, searchable system,” said John Mohahan, president and CEO of Wolters Kluwer Health Pharma Solutions.
"As a result, we expect Adis clinical trials Insight to become the de facto standard for all clinical trial decision-making.”
