New high-performance charge coupled device (CCD)-based imaging systems provide great flexibility as laboratory imaging tools. The systems are designed to meet the varied requirements of scientists in the life sciences.Posted on 07 Sep 2005
The ImageQuant Imaging systems, developed by GE Healthcare (Waukesha, WI, USA), provide research tools for laboratory imaging of fluorescent, colorimetric, and chemiluminescent samples.
"GE Healthcare customers will find an ImageQuant system to suit their imaging needs,” stated Brain Ayling, global marketing manager, Imaging Systems, GE Healthcare. "They may choose from entry level systems designed primarily for digital documentation of experiments and the creation of images for publication without the need for film or top-of-the-line systems, which include sophisticated, quantitative devices for specialists who demand high performance and precision.”
The fast cooled, high-resolution camera of ImageQuant 400 can image colorimetric, chemiluminescent, and fluorescent samples. The ImageQuant ECL is a 16-bit CCD system designed especially for imaging of chemiluminescent samples. The ImageQuant 300 and 100 are single gel documentation systems with real-time imaging capabilityAll four imagers feature a CCD camera and are available with user-friendly ImageQuant TL image analysis software. The images come ready for easy instillation by the user and a full range of accessories, including illumination sources and filters.
