Microbiologists to Gather in New Orleans

The 104th General Meeting of the American Society for Microbiology (ASM, Washington, DC, USA) will be held in New Orleans (LA, USA) May 23-27. The meeting will feature about 3,000 scientific presentations on topics spanning the spectrum of the microbiologic sciences. The ASM is the oldest and largest single biologic membership organization, with around 44,000 members worldwide.

The topics to be presented at the meeting include disease risks in international travel, the microbiology of animal-bite wounds, microbial life beneath the Antarctic ice, updates on SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome) vaccine and therapy development, and microbial threats to water supplies.
