AI-Driven Blood Test Enhances Early Detection of Multiple Cancers

Early cancer detection remains a critical challenge in oncology, with current approaches often limited by the narrow genomic snapshots they assess. Broader molecular interrogation may improve confidence in identifying signals when disease is most treatable. A newly launched blood test now combines ultra-deep whole genome and whole transcriptome sequencing with artificial intelligence to broaden signal detection for multi-cancer early detection.

Caris Life Sciences (Irving, TX, USA) has launched Caris Detect, a multi-cancer early detection blood test designed to uncover cancer signals at earlier, more treatable stages. The test is positioned to push the boundaries of early detection by drawing on multiple data modalities rather than single-signal methods. It is intended to replace outdated screening methods as a new standard for early detection.

Caris Detect integrates ultra-deep Whole Genome Sequencing and Whole Transcriptome Sequencing with advanced artificial intelligence to analyze a broad spectrum of molecular and biological signals. Beyond a limited subset of genomic changes, the assay evaluates the full breadth of genomic and molecular patterns, including DNA, RNA, and other biological features. The platform is powered by a molecular profiling database encompassing more than one million cases and over 50 billion molecular markers, enabling models to detect subtle signals associated with early-stage disease across multiple cancer types.

The launch builds on findings from the Caris Detect ACHIEVE 1 study, which demonstrated strong performance characteristics in detecting cancer signals across multiple tumor types. The company indicates that research is ongoing, with future study milestones planned to expand the clinical evidence base and evolve the test’s capabilities over time. Information about eligibility, physician involvement, and the testing process is available through the program’s patient-facing resources.

“Early detection remains one of the most urgent and consequential challenges in oncology. Caris Detect represents a major step forward in our mission to transform cancer care through the most advanced molecular science available. By combining unmatched biological depth with sophisticated AI, we are giving physicians and patients a powerful new tool to help identify cancer earlier and support more informed clinical decisions,” said David Dean Halbert, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Caris Life Sciences.
